Richard E. Oriakhi

Richard E. Oriakhi joined the law firm of Roman & Singh, LLP, in August, 2000. Mr. Oriakhi brings over 10 years of legal experience to his position. As senior associate in charge of day to day operations in our Fremont, California branch office, he focuses his practice on immigration and nationality law, specifically removal defense before the Executive Office for Immigration Review and family-based petitions. He also concentrates his practice on civil and family law matters before the California Superior Courts, as well as criminal and bankruptcy law. Mr. Oriahki has extensive appellate experience practicing before the Board of Immigration Appeals and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit in San Francisco, California. He has also traveled frequently to India on behalf of the firm to represent clients before the United States Consulate in New Delhi.

Mr. Oriakhi was born and raised in Nigeria. He received his B.A. in Management Science from Alaska Pacific University (1985) in Anchorage, Alaska and his J.D. from Hofstra University School of Law (1996) in Hempstead, New York. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Oriakhi worked in the private investment/insurance industry as a unit production manager. He is admitted to practice law in New York and California as well as various federal courts and government agencies.
